Giacosa Fratelli Barbaresco 2007
Not a producer I had heard of before (and not to be confused with Bruno!) and we all know to be wary of cheap Barbaresco (only 16€ here!), but I'm glad I bought one to try. It isn't very open, but there are flashes of very attractive aromas, it is very true to the grape. It is a rather light and austere style but of such purity that I'm rapidly becoming a fan (the more I drink it, the more I like it - looks dangerously to be a bottle that will not see tomorrow!) Must get a couple more to age a few years.
